Our learners are immersed in a digital, technological culture outside of school and they expect to use digital tools as part of their educational experience. Our philosophy of learning is rooted in a commitment to nurture the global competencies of our students to enable them to lead full, enriched and contributing lives as Christians in our world. To make this happen, we continually invest in our technological infrastructure to provide optimal learning environments that are responsie to the needs of students. We are leaders in the creation of virtual learning environments with a progressive suite of online digital tools. Most importantly, we focus on the quality of instruction and implement digital learning devices that make a difference at the point of instruction. |

Digital Toolkit – Access to 21st Century Tools
The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board embraces blended learning and a digital toolkit to support the achievement of students. Every student within the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board has access to powerful online digital tools. Our digital “Toolkit” ensures that every student has “anytime, anywhere” access so they can create, connect, collaborate, and be fully engaged in learning networks.
We have placed an important focus on investing in a broad array of digital devices and the professional learning of our educators. We have placed iPads and Chromebooks at the point of instruction at an approximate ratio of 1 device for every 2 students across our school system. This ratio enables a learning approach that can take advantage of the very best of a variety of devices to ensure that the learning is not limited by the technology. We also embrace a Bring Your Own Device philosophy so that students are welcome to bring their own devices to school with comprehensive access to the same suite of tools in our Digital Toolkit.

HPCDSB Summit Series
| We are pleased to offer support to students for digital technologies with the creation of our HPCDSB Summit Series and Certification Program. This program is a staged technology implementation approach designed to train and support students with the technology and software they need to be engaged in today’s learning environment. The three stages are:
1) I’m A Digital Student System Summit – Supporting Student Digital Experts
This year 120 “Digital Student Experts” participated in the system summit from each elementary school. See the video to the right.
